Heard on the Radio: Inflation-Proof Your Investments
As heard on KNSI-AM in St. Cloud, Dave Hinnenkamp of KDV Wealth Management says that now is a good time to review your portfolio’s mix of fixed-income investments to determine if the rate of return is keeping up with inflation. Decreasing interest rates may be whittling away at your returns over time in such products as money market funds, CDs and savings accounts.
You have some options. You could reallocate a portion of these funds to high quality stocks that pay dividends. If you want to stick with a fixed income product, however, Dave recommends considering a switch to Minnesota municipal bonds. These are still a safe investment with the benefit of zero taxation on earnings.
Contact KDV Wealth Management to review your portfolio for some of these inflation-proofing options.
Tune in to Dave’s weekly radio show every Wednesday from 9:35 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on AM 1450, KNSI.
